Domain name scams are pretty popular and have been around since the beginning of domain names. A company appearing to be the Domain Registry of America (aka Domain Service of America) sends out deceiving letters stating that your domain name is about to expire, (sample below), confusing website owners and prompting them to change domain name registrars. The letters look very real, but typically their annual fees are three to five times the original cost. Don’t fall prey to these crooks.
